Here is a poem I found and I thought I'd share, because I'm going to go and talk with my husband again :) (I may post again later this evening)
Some dream of big houses
Or shiny new cars,
Ours is to someday
Hold a baby that's ours.
Some dream of more money
To hoard and to keep,
Mine is to someday
Rock my baby to sleep.
Some dream of careers
In buildings so tall,
His is to someday
Kick his kid a football.
Some dream of great power
To be strong and tough,
Ours is to someday
Have a child to love.
Some dream of things
Such as silver and gold
Ours is of the day
Our child we'll hold.
Or shiny new cars,
Ours is to someday
Hold a baby that's ours.
Some dream of more money
To hoard and to keep,
Mine is to someday
Rock my baby to sleep.
Some dream of careers
In buildings so tall,
His is to someday
Kick his kid a football.
Some dream of great power
To be strong and tough,
Ours is to someday
Have a child to love.
Some dream of things
Such as silver and gold
Ours is of the day
Our child we'll hold.

ReplyDeleteI am so happy that you are able to converse with your husband. Most times, that is the camel that breaks a marriage through the trial times.
ReplyDeleteI know that sometimes I forget that this journey is as painful for him as it is for me. When I see him longingly look at a child it breaks my heart and as a woman I feel incredibly useless. I really hope that you, me and every other couple going through this make it to the other side or find peace with it.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the comments! I know I try hard to hear his side, but I do often find myself telling him that he just doesnt understand, but I know he does, and even if he doesn't he tries damn hard to. I certainly hope we can all love our spouses, regardless if we are acheiving what we want (baby) because if those things dont work out for us, our love for each other is all we have.
